Flexing and Rubbing Tester, also called Combined Shear Flexing and Rubbing Tester, is specially used for determining the resistance performance to combined shear flexing and rubbing in automobiles.

Flexing and rubbing tester is used to produce a continuously changing bend in the specimen, thereby subjecting the bent portion of the specimen to a series of gentle friction. Observe the wear of the specimen visually. There are two methods, A and B, to apply force on the specimen. Method A uses the presser foot to apply force while method B does not, the friction produced by simple contact between the surfaces of specimen.
