Thermal Conductivity Tester DW265-TC   

DW265-TC Thermal Conductivity Tester is a new portable thermal conductivity tester based on THW technique to satisfy the users’ portable requirement. Special sensor design makes it suitable for liquids, solids, powder, viscous body, paste and etc. Without changing sensor, DW265-TC can be used for both insulation materials (λ ≤ 0.05W/ (m˙K)) and conductive materials (λ ≥ 2.0 W/ (m˙K)) with a high resolution (better than 0.001 W/ (m˙K)).

In the transient hot-wire (THW) technique, the thermal conductivity of the medium is determined by observing the rate at which the temperature of a very thin metallic wire increases with time after a step change in voltage has been applied to it, thus creating in the medium a line source of essentially uniform heat flux per unit length that is constant in time. This has the effect of producing a temperature field throughout the medium which increases with time. The thermal conductivity is obtained from the time evolution of the temperature of the wire.
