AIR-JET SPINNING PROCESS
SPINNING PROCESS:
- The syringe pump is connected to the air-jet spinning nozzle through a delivery tube.
- The polymer solution is driven by the syringe pump and extruded from the small central hole of the air-jet spinning nozzle.
- Compressed air passes through the outer channel of the air-jet spinning nozzle and is discharged at high speed around the central solution outlet.
- The high-velocity airflow creates shear and stretching effects at the air-jet spinning nozzle exit, causing the polymer solution jet to thin progressively.
- The resulting nanofibers are entrained in the airflow and deposited onto the collector, where they form a nanofiber mat.
