Special Textile design used in the hong kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge
The hong kong-zhuhai-macao bridge was officially opened to traffic on oct 24. Named one of the “seven wonders of the new world”, the world’s longest sea-crossing bridge USES a large number of innovative functional composites.
According to the special working conditions, the hong kong-zhuhai-macao bridge needs to be able to withstand typhoons above 16, which is the most severe domestic bridge project to resist the wind. The rubber layer provides the bearing with the function of high elastic deformation, reduction and bearing
The fender is composed of composite impact surface, reinforced coupling board, energy dissipation column, and closed-hole energy dissipation core material. The energy dissipation closed-hole foam material, etc. are integrated into shape through vacuum introduction and become the “protective suit” of the hong kong-zhuhai-macao bridge, which effectively reduces the destructive power brought by vessel collision and improves shipping safety
In order to make the bridge stronger, 140,000 high-strength fibrous slings of the Kong kong-zhuhai-macao bridge were used to lift 6,000 tons of precast reinforced concrete at sea. The high-performance rope for hoisting the hong kong-zhuhai-macao bridge is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber developed by sinopec nanjing chemical research institute co., LTD and China textile science research institute. This polyethylene fiber is only 1/10 of the thickness of the hair, but when it is made into a cable, the strength is higher than the steel cable, and the bearing capacity can reach 35kg
The hong kong-zhuhai-macao bridge has a very harsh technical specification for the rubber used for bridge deck pavement, which not only requires ultra-high strength and ultra-high toughness, but also has to be tested for salt fog resistance by adapting to the maritime climate. There is no precedent for domestic products being used in similar projects.
In the construction of artificial islands around the island jumping wave ditch, a new polymer plastic template played a considerable role. The plastic template is made of high polymer composite reinforced by thermoplastic long fiber. The weight of a square meter plastic mold is about 10kg, which is only 1/7 of the steel mold. Meanwhile, it is also resistant to wear, corrosion and high strength. The plastic template adopts unified composite components, which can be flexibly and quickly formalized assembly. Construction personnel can master the operation quickly with simple training. Meanwhile, there is no problem of stumps, spikes and other problems in the template during construction, which can greatly reduce construction safety risks.
A series of new materials and components produced not only break the foreign technical barriers and meet the special needs of bridge construction, but also play a leading role in the independent innovation and technological progress of China’s transportation construction industry.
