The development about Geosynthetic materials
Although the formal production and use of geosynthetic materials in China began in the early 1980s, the formulation of various standards for them has been delayed to 1998 after the devastating floods in China.
In that year, as the material played a significant role in flood fighting and emergency rescue, after the flood, leaders of the state council issued written instructions for several times, requiring that geosynthetic materials should be promoted and applied as a priority in repairing the dam and dam. As a result, from the end of 1998, all kinds of relevant standards were successively compiled, approved and published. The published standards can be divided into three categories:
Application technical standard
The rang relates to the design and construction standards of materials in engineering, compiled by relevant engineering standards departments, including the national standard gb50291-98, SL/ t225-98 issued by the ministry of water resources, tb10118-99 issued by the ministry of railways, and JTJ/ t239-98 (water transport engineering) and JTJ/ t019-98 (highway engineering) issued by the ministry of communications. In addition, ctag-97 prepared by China geosynthetics engineering association (code of design for plastic drainage belt foundation)
Production standard
It Involve various material classification, specification, code, make technology etc. Existing in our country this kind of standard is issued by the standardization institute of Chinese textile national standards contain GB/geosynthetic materials 】 【 T17630 ~ 13 project of 17642-1998, one of the first 8 of the test method for geotextile and related products, after the five standards for geotextile and geomembrane products, need to point out that the standard is adopted the provisions of the international organization for standardization ISO.
In addition, there are national standards for a number of plastic products (Geotextile, composite geotextile, Geomembrane, Geogrid , Geocomposite drain ,GCL , PVD etc.) compiled by the national technical committee for standardization of plastics products.
Testing method standard :
ASTM(American Society for Testing Material) is one of the most famous authorities in the world to establish the standard of Material Testing method. It is a non-governmental non-profit cross-industry organization, whose business scope covers a variety of materials, including rock and geosynthetic materials. The experimental methods and specifications of the above two types of materials in China are mainly based on ASTM standard.
