The mask is divided into three layers: inner, middle and outer, which are made of non-woven fabric or fused spray material, it is inflammable and easy to damage the mask wearer. So it is necessary to test the flame resistance of the mask to meet the standards.
The flammability test apparatus consists of a draft-proof ventilated chamber enclosing a standardized ignition mechanism, sample rack, and automatic timing mechanism.Before testing, adjust the distance from the mask to the burner and then ignite a specific flame. When start the test, the head will move and pass through the flame. The timer will record the after-flame time and afterglow time automatically, which are shown on the display. The time for the mask to pass through the fire source has certain standard requirements, and the movement speed of the mask is controlled to ensure the action time of the fire source.The flame retardant performance of the mask can be judged by the ignition time, combustion time and the state after combustion.The operator can observe the burning status of the mask in real time through a large observation window.

Application of Mask Flammability Tester
YG815MK Mask Flammability Tester/Flame Retardant Tester is used to test the flammability performance of face masks. To ensure the safety of masks, the materials used should not be highly flammable.
The mask specimen is put on a dummy head, which simulates the actual use of mask. This tester can make the dummy head with mask specimen move horizontally to pass over the burner with a certain linear velocity. Before testing, adjust the distance from the mask to the burner and then ignite a specific flame. When start the test, the head will move and pass through the flame. The timer will record the after-flame time and afterglow time automatically, which are shown on the display. At the same time, the operator can observe whether the mask burn or continue to burn for more than 5s after removal from the flame.
