What Is Elmendorf Tear Tester?

Elmendorf Tear Tester is designed to test the fabric tear strength (intensity) of the instrument, the determination of impact pendulum method tear strength, also known as the pendulum or drop weight tear strength tester. There have  manual electronic tear strength tester, digital Elmendorf tear strength tester etc

Elmendorf Tear Tester is widely used in production of avulsion to finishing the durability of the product. Such as resin, additives or paint finishing of fabric, yarn by deformation capacity decreases, and using tear strength than the tensile breaking strength can reflect more the fastness of change after the textile finishing. Many industrial fabrics also regard tear strength as one of the important items of product quality inspection. The tearing property of fabric is very important to the durability of fabric.

From the sample, which customer sent to us, we found there were two type of plastic sheet, one marked SUNCAP 500, the other marked ECONOWRAP + PE FOIL.

As per ISO13937-1 and sample size which you sent to us, we took 5 samples from SUNCAP 500 (2 warp-wise, 3 weft-wise), 6 samples from ECONOWRAP + PE FOIL (2 warp-wise, 4 weft-wise).

CONCLUSION

1 AS PER ISO13937-1, ALL SAMPLES SHOULD BE CONDITIONED IN A CONSTANT TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY CHAMBER, BUT TO SAVE TIME, WE DO NOT CONDITION ANY SAMPLES, SO THE FORCE VALUE MAY NOT BE VERY ACCURATE.

2 FOR SAMPLE SUNCAP 500, THERE IS NO OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE OF TEST RESULT BETWEEN DIFFERENT SAMPLING DIRECTIONS. BUT FOR SAMPLE

3 ECONOWRAP + PE FOIL, FORCE OF WEFT-WISE IS BIGGER THAN THE WARP-WISE.

4 FROM THE TEST RESULT ABOVE, YG033B IS A SUITABLE MACHINE TO TEST YOUR PRODUCTS.
